Did you know that there’s an electric scooter on the market that can not only go off-road, but also do it at a blistering fast 60 mph?
Meet the Qiewa QPower – Qiewa’s latest and greatest electric scooter!
If you’re familar with the Qiewa brand, you know that the QPower’s predecessor is the Q1 Hummer, which is a fantastic electric scooter in its own right.
However, the QPower is the culmination of years of design and experimentation to build the fastest, most-capable off-road scooter on the market!

The Tesla of Electric Scooters?
Is this the most advanced electric scooter on the market? As of mid-2019, I’d say that it is. Most certainly others will come along, but I honestly believe that Qiewa will maintain its dominance on the leading edge of the electric scooter market for years to come.
There just isn’t another electric scooter with the speed, range, relatively affordable price (there are a few other scooters that have similar speeds and ranges but they are twice the price of this QPower).
Having the 11-inch knobby tires that enable it to off-road is also what helps to set it apart. Check out this video done by Alien Rides on YouTube that illustrates its abilities on sand, tall grass, and landscaping mulch. For those that may need to commute a bit off-road, the QPower is up to the task.
A Big Man’s Electric Scooter
If you’re a larger individual and have been wanting to find an electric scooter to get you to work or school, this is the one for you.
It’s not just because it can hold a rider up to 440 lbs. You could be 300 lbs and this monster will still have the torque to get you up hills and through all kinds of obstacles.
It’s also because of the overall weight of the scooter. It weighs 77 lbs so if you want to carry it up a flight of stairs to your office or house you need to be pretty strong.
Because it’s foldable, it also fits into the trunk of many cars and trucks. The dimensions of it when folded are 45.7″ x 11″ x 17″. However, with its immense weight, only the really strong are going to be able to muscle this monster into the trunk.
Driving Modes Offer Different Experiences
There are 3 different speed settings that you can set on the QPower to give you a cruise-control experience depending on your driving conditions:
- 15.5 mph (25 km) – Eco-mode helps to keep you going when the battery is low
- 31 mph (50 km) – A steady and fast speed that will help you maximize your battery life while providing great speed and power
- 50 mph (80 km) – The max speed setting possible for those times when you’re on a smooth, straight road and you just want to max out the scooter’s capabilities
Safety Features You Need
If you’re going to go as fast as a car, then you need some serious safety features. The dual hydraulic brakes are an absolute necessity. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any data to show what the typical stopping time/distance is. Keep in mind that when you are already 200 lbs+ riding a scooter that also weighs 77 lbs and your’e going 50 mph you will not stop on a dime (nor would you generally want to unless you enjoy flying through the air head first).
The lighting system is well-done for those who ride at night. Dual front LED headlights close to the deck will help illuminate your path. The dual LED brake lights and the side LED deck lights will help keep you visible to others on the road.
Make sure you get a helmet designed for high-speed riding! Think motorcycle helmet! You may think you look stupid, but you’ll look worse with your brains scattered all over the pavement because you wore a bicycle helmet.
At those high speeds, you will also want some type of face protection against the elements and all types of debris that can be kicked up off the ground and at your head.
The QPower also comes with a remote locking device, but you probably should still consider having a separate lock when parking it in an area you plan to stay in for a while. At 77 lbs it’s difficult but not impossible for someone to cart away. Go with something like the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Chain for a heavy-duty lock that will deter most thieves.
Should You Get This Scooter??
If you can afford it, and your commute is difficult, then the Qiewa QPower may be just the scooter to help make your life a lot easier. It has the power and speed to get you in and around traffic and for a price considerably cheaper than a typical motorcycle.
